Kulturnacht 2025

Culture Night 2025

At first, it was just a small idea – a quiet vision: to create a sculpture for Berblinger's 255th birthday – and to donate a portion of the proceeds. What began as a personal heartfelt project quickly developed an incredible momentum of its own. In recent months, more and more artists and craft colleagues have joined in. Each in their own expressive way – yet we are united by the same spirit: compassion and the memory of a man who was far ahead of his time.

I don't know how many times I've been asked in recent months: "Why the Tailor of Ulm?" The simplest answer would be: "Because my studio is at Münsterplatz 10 – where Berblinger once worked." But this explanation would be too trivial. Because the truth goes much deeper. His courage, his dreams, his failures – perhaps we recognize a part of ourselves in them.

Achieving Great Things Together - A Project That Connects People

In the end, something emerged that far exceeded my expectations: a proper celebration. It fills me with deep joy to see how something great can arise from a quiet idea.

With our tribute to Berblinger, we are part of the Ulm Cultural Night 2025 – which, like Berblinger, is celebrating an anniversary.

25th Ulm Cultural Night – 255th Birthday of Berblinger

What more is needed to make it a magnificent celebration? The patron of our Berblinger tribute is Ivo Gönner, former Lord Mayor of Ulm. We are represented at two locations. A rich supporting program awaits you.

At the Atelier Münsterplatz 10 – there, in my sparkling jewelry world, you will find the Berblinger sculpture – Limited Edition. Those who know me know that there is an outstanding highlight in every small series – how could it be any different here? Therefore, I took the opportunity to create a unique Berblinger piece – with the original replica of the flying machine. The fact that this sculpture is based on a stone that was built into Ulm Minster for centuries and found its way back to Ulm via the Minster quarry of the KSV company – is just a "small detail" that makes this sculpture so special.

Walter Spira, the renowned Ulm singer-songwriter, will grace our celebration with both his first and last notes – in the form of two exclusive concerts.

Classical music by Sergey Sadovoy, photo exhibition, reading by Johannes Schweikle from his novel "Fallwind" – a fictional biography of Berblinger including a signing session.

Open workshop – open studio.

Münsterplatz / Corner of Münsterbauhütte including Minster Tower

On the Minster Tower, a photo exhibition by Lionel Bizien awaits you. Classical music by Sergey Sadovoy and another reading by Johannes Schweikle.

On Münsterplatz, we will present the creation of the Berblinger sculpture, art, and music. A team will lovingly look after the little ones within the framework of a colorful children's program (crafts, theater, Berblinger story). As a small highlight, each child will receive a small BÄRblinger as a souvenir of the day. Refresh yourselves at our food truck with the Berblinger pizza – enjoy and do good, because a portion of the proceeds will also go to the donation fund.
