3rd Place - 53rd German Jewellery and Gemstone Award Idar-Oberstein.
The theme of the competition was: "Fascinating Creatures of the Sea"
Both gemstone design and the design of a piece of jewelry made of precious metal and gemstones were permitted. Thus, unset gemstones, gemstones in jewelry (only precious metals may be used here), gemstone objects, and gemstone sculptures are allowed.
The Idar-Oberstein jewelry and gemstone competitions are among the most important international industry competitions – and their participants come from all over the world. For the entire industry, these competitions are a unique showcase and at the same time an excellent marketing measure with an international focus.
Alfonso Anzivino impressed the jury and delighted the entire audience with his necklace "Maricia".
The award-winning works will be exhibited from December 1, 2023, to January 14, 2024, as the
"Object of the Month" at the German Gemstone Museum, Hauptstraße 118, 55743 Idar-Oberstein,
and from February 16 to 19, 2024, at Inhorgenta Munich.
All works submitted for the "53rd German Jewelry and Gemstone Award Idar-Oberstein 2023" and the "34th German Young Talent Competition for Gemstone and Jewelry Design Idar-Oberstein 2023" will presumably be exhibited on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at the IHK building, Hauptstraße 161, 55743 Idar-Oberstein.
THE COMPETITIONS
A total of 108 works were submitted to the competitions. For the German
Jewelry and Gemstone Award, 78 works were submitted by 33 participants. Participants in the competitions came from Germany, France, New Zealand, the Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, and South Korea.
Due to the high standard of the submitted works, the jury decided to award commendations in addition to the prizes in both competitions.
